Sam Thomas, Operations Manager, has kindly written this blog entry about his family day out to the Leaf Open Farm Sunday...
On Sunday 9th June 2019, my wonderful partner suggested we take our daughters to the charity Leaf Open Farm Sunday at Manor Farm, Fundenhall, so our daughters could see what a working dairy farm was like.
And what a wonderful time we had! We were blessed by lovely sunny weather. Our daughters were thrilled to see the cows up so close in the fields and were keen to learn how they get milked. Therefore, we went into the milk shed and we found it fascinating to watch the cows take it in turned to be milked.
We then went to explore the farm and saw some lovely calves and rabbits that the girls got to stroke. We even came across some beautiful art work from a local Norfolk artist, Jacqueline Ives - we ended up with three of her paintings.
Our daughters absolutely loved seeing the goats in the field.
Our eldest daughter also tried some archery and she seems to be a natural!
The girls then had fun on the bouncy castle and even got to sit in a tractor.
Before we left to go home after a wonderful day out, we tried some fresh milk and yogurts.
A fun filled family day out for just £5!
