Apple Tree Cottage 1806

Norfolk is a wonderful place to visit this time of year. With beautiful rolling fields, vibrant in colour, gorgeous coastlines to explore, bursting with wildlife, and, of course, the renowned Norfolk Broads to admire, Norfolk really is the place to be. Escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and enjoy a picnic on the green grass, the sound of nothing but beautiful bird song and the gentle breeze rippling through the trees around you. Saxlingham Nethergate, situated in the Norfolk Countryside, is a designated Conservation Area known for its outstandingly beautiful landscape and village. Complete with a cricket green and a gorgeous 14th Century church, Saxlingham Nethergate is a truly wonderful location for a relaxing, restful summer break. Apple Tree Cottage, located in the heart of Saxlingham Nethergate, is a stunning Grade 11 listed cottage. Parts of the cottage even date back to the 15th Century; this property is bursting with a rich history. The impressive beams running throughout the cottage will undoubtedly amaze you as soon as you step into the property.

On the ground floor of Apple Tree Cottage you will find the lovely kitchen-diner, complete with a Rayburn, electric induction job, combination microwave, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, dining table and chairs. The first bedroom also lies on the ground floor, which hosts a comfortable double bed. Following on from this, you’ll find the bathroom, with an idyllic large corner bath, perfect for a nice soak in the evening. The bathroom has an over-bath shower with a rainfall shower head, washbasin and wc. You’ll also find the laundry room on the ground floor, with a washing machine and tumble dryer.

On the first floor you will find a very comfortable sitting room, finished with a TV, DVD player, CD player, WiFi and radio. Perhaps spend the evening curled up in front of the TV watching your favourite soap, or pop on a film you’ve been wanting to see. Finally, the second bedroom lies on the first floor, complete with a double bed.

The garden is a perfect space to enjoy a family barbecue in the evening or perhaps enjoy a glass of chilled wine on a summer’s day, surrounded by beautiful views into the heart of the village. To the front of the property lies a gorgeous garden area with seating and outdoor dining table and chairs. To the rear of the house is a fully enclosed courtyard with patio table and chairs, barbecue and the facility for secure bicycle storage, perfect for returning after a long bikeride down Boudicca’s Way. Why not bring a board game or two outside and enjoy special family time in the gorgeous summer sunshine.

If you love discovering new local places to eat, visit the award-winning gastro pub Wildebeest Arms in the nearby village of Stoke Holy Cross. Also in Stoke Holy Cross, take a trip to the Stoke Mill which offers contemporary fine dining. If bird watching and peaceful walks are more your thing, head to the Tas Valley. Keen fishermen can access both Carp and Coarse fishing at Taswood Lakes. On a gorgeous summer day, why not head to Boudicca Way; the 36 mile path runs between Norwich and Diss and can be walked or cycled.

Although located in the beautiful Norfolk countryside, Saxlingham Nethergate is only a short drive from the vibrant city of Norwich. With a multitude of shops, cafes, pubs, restaurants and entertainment venues, why not spend a day or two discovering the culture and heritage of the thriving city.
