New Year’s Eve will soon be upon us – Whether you are heading out to the local pub or planning to settle in to your Norfolk Country Cottage to see in the New Year – Be sure to celebrate the start of 2017 with one of the many fantastic Norfolk tipples.

This is our top five – we think you should be trying.

No 1 = The Norfolk Sloe Company – Their range includes an award winning Black Shuck Sloe Gin, Black Shuck Premium Gin and a variety of liqueurs – be sure to check out their website for some excellent cocktail suggestions. For those of you who haven’t heard of Black Shuck – this is one of the oldest legends in English folklore – “Black Shuck” is the name given to a ghostly black dog which has red eyes and has said to have roamed the Norfolk coastline for many years…… You have been warned!

No 2 = Whin Hill Norfolk Cider – Located in the beautiful seaside town of Wells-next-the-Sea, Whin Hill produce a range of ciders which are made from locally grown apples, with no added water, flavourings or artificial sweeteners. – We’ve all heard the saying - "an apple a day keeps the doctor away," – so drink up.

No 3 = Woodfordes Norfolk Ales – Woodfordes have been brewing for over 30 years and produce innovative beers that are from malting barley which is grown locally. They have won a number of awards including the Pride of Norfolk award at the Norfolk Food and Drink Awards in 2012. With over 50 stockists around Norfolk, a good pint is never far away.

No 4 = Winbirri Vineyards Norfolk Wines – No matter what your drink of choice is, come 23.55pm – you need to have a glass of bubbles in hand – From grapes grown at their vineyard at Surlingham, Norwich - the English sparkling wine produced is pale gold in colour with great clarity & tiny bubbles. On the palate, you will notice crisp citrus fruits, freshness & toasty notes, leading into a creamy seductive balance - perfect for toasting in 2017.

No 5 = Norfolk Cordial – For the designated driver – fear not as we have the wonderful Norfolk Cordial company, as seen on Dragons Den providing a wide range of luxury non-alcoholic fresh fruit cordials. Choose from a great selection including orange & ginger, elderflower & cucumber and strawberry & lime.

Please drink responsibly and have a great evening.

Happy New Year everyone!
