February Half-Term Fun
If you’re heading to Norfolk this February Half-Term, you won’t be disappointed as there are plenty of attractions offering fun & adventure to keep the children entertained – and maybe use up some of that surplus energy!Here is just a small selection of what’s on offer in our county……
The Teddy Bear Express at the Bure Valley Railway returns! The Railway’s resident bear will take charge at Aylsham Station to ensure nine days of fun for all the family! Trains will operate from both Aylsham and Wroxham stations three times per day. A children’s competition to see how many teddy bears can be spotted on the train journey, a colouring corner and a decorated Whistle-stop Café add to this teddy bear themed event. Also the Railway is giving free travel to every child when accompanied by a fare-paying adult.
The lambing season starts at Church Farm in Stow Bardolph.During the half-term along with the adventure playground to explore, children can take part in a quiz and visit the special “maternity ward” to see all the cute woolly lambs being born, there may even be a chance to feed a lamb if you’re lucky.
Again during half-term the lambing season starts - this time at Wroxham Barns. Visitors can bottle-feed lambs and sessions will take place every day in the main barn on Junior Farm at 11am, 1.30pm and 3.30pm. The children will also love the Junior Farm, an all-weather attraction and is home to all sorts of other animals as well as a modern indoor play area, Piggy’s Play Sty, for the under-10s. The children’s fun fair and mini golf course will also be open during half-term.
Norwich Puppet Theatre’s popular production of Red Riding Hood returns to Norfolk this February half term on Saturday 14 February. Bringing a fresh twist to a well-loved tale the show is a feast of extraordinary puppetry, original music and song. There are also family workshops to get involved in.
Fans of Channel 5’s hugely popular children’s TV Milkshake will be thrilled to know that there is a brand new stage show Milkshake! Live 'Party Party,' which will be performing at King’s Lynn Corn Exchange on Monday 16 February at 1pm and 3.30pm. Tickets still available….
Bee a Nature Explorer...... Join Pensthorpe this February half term and buzz around on this fascinating self-guided trail to find out more about the fascinating species that we share our natural world with. After exploring the reserve and learning all about nature, why not get active at WildRootz? Families can have a go on over 30 individual items of play equipment at the £1million attraction, including dens to build, a giant winding slide tower called ‘The Worm’, ‘The Flyway’ zipwire and ‘Beats and Tweets’ – a musical game which is great fun for any age.
Along with the normal BeWilderwood fun of clambering across jungle bridges, whizzing down zip-wires, slithering down slippery slopes and taking part in storytelling, head to the ‘Big Hat’ which you’ll find brimming with pine cones, twigs, card and tissue paper plus gallons & gallons of glittery glue…. to make a wish potion, then finally join together at the fire pit to make all your wishes come true!
