Park Run

I have recently started (more shockingly - enjoyed!) running …… so looking into options of running clubs around Norfolk, I came across Park Runs. I have heard of these events before but didn’t know too much about them.

Park run is organised by volunteers, free to join and once registered you can run at any of the 300+ locations across the country. You will receive a unique barcode, so all your race times will be recorded - encouraging you to improve on your personal best!

Each weekly run is a 5km distance and are advertised as a fun, friendly, sociable event, where all abilities are welcome plus a location to head to after, for a post run coffee and a chance to meet & chat with other runners.

So if you are already a keen Park Runner in your local area and heading to Norfolk on holiday, or just want to enjoy a one off run in our beautiful countryside, Norfolk has a number of locations across the county holding one of these events - all on a Saturday morning at 9am. See below…..

Sheringham Park
Blickling Park
The Walks – Kings Lynn
Catton Park – Norwich
Eaton Park – Norwich
The Common – Mulbarton
Gorleston Cliffs near Great Yarmouth
Fritton Lake Country Park
Abbey Meadows – Thetford
For more information see Park Runs

I now just need to build up the courage to have a go myself – hopefully I make it to the post run coffee….. Before everyone else has gone home!!
