When you think of Thursford, you’ll probably think it’s just home to the largest Christmas show in the country.

This is true, over 2.5 million people have seen the magical extravaganza, however what you may not know is The Thursford Collection offers fun for all the family at other times of the year not just at Christmas!

During April – September they are open and running back stage tours, where you can visit behind the scenes, see the dressing rooms, costumes and experience all the secret preparations being planned for the 2014 show!

Again during this time you can climb on board the traditional carousels and gondola, marvel at the size and scale of steam with the largest collection of traction engines in the world. Be spellbound with music from original fairground sounds of mechanical organs and enjoy daily mighty Wurlitzer shows with Robert Wolfe, one of the worlds leading theatre organists.

Young children will love the adventure playground with swings, slides, climbing frames and even a zip wire, to tackle.

Love shopping? Everyone turns into a child with the biggest Christmas store in the country to explore, not forgetting the traditional sweet shop where you’ll be sure to find all your old-fashioned favourites.

If you still have some spending money left! Shop for fashion, accessories, crafts, jams, chutneys, biscuits and unique giftware at the “olde worlde” village of shops.

You can also sample some tasty soups, salads, sandwiches, full lunches and afternoon teas in the café or take a picnic and sit in the family friendly garden.

Finally a day here isn’t complete without having homemade ice-cream, created on the premises in a host of delicious flavours, in my opinion there’s nothing like the taste of real ice-cream!

So whilst having a holiday in Norfolk, (not just at Christmas!) Don’t forget to discover the wonderful world of fairground fun, marvellous machines, countryside heritage, musical shows, shopping village and much much more.....

The Thursford Collection is for EVERYDAY not just for Christmas!
