Looking for something to do this weekend? Then look no further.....

The Coastal town of Sheringham in North Norfolk is holding its first ever Viking two day event. Starting at 10am on Saturday 22nd February 2014 with various attractions for the whole family to enjoy including costume, shield & sword making, woodturning demonstrations, a Viking themed craft fair and a parade led by fire-bearers with flaming wooden torches.

Along with many of the shops & businesses joining in by dressing up there will be lots of entertainment from the re-enactment group Wuffa who specialise in live history displays plus there will be performances by the local Sheringham theatre drama group. The Crown pub will also be hosting music from a number of live bands on the Saturday evening.

The main attraction will be the wooden Viking longboat with dragon figurehead which is displayed in the town centre for the two days before being set alight around 6pm on Sunday, out at sea!

This event looks like it is going to be lots of fun and although it may be Sheringham's first I’m sure it won’t be the last!
