All The Fun Of The Fair!

Looking for somewhere to take the children over half-term or if you're a big kid like me, then head over to Kings Lynn, in West Norfolk.

On February 14th (Valentine’s Day!) for nearly two weeks the Tuesday market place turns into a sea of colour, music, laughter and excitement, when the traditional touring family funfair arrives.

Officially being opened by the town Mayor and dating back to Henry VIII in 1537, I can guarantee if you are a fan of traditional rides such as the Carousel, Walzter, Tea-Cups, Fun-house and Dodgems or if you are looking for more of an adrenalin rush…… Not Me! With rides called Oblivion, Booster and The Scream Machine you will not be disappointed as they cater for all.

Have to admit the best thing for me is the side stalls….. I’m sure I’ll win a HUGE cuddly toy one year! Also getting to enjoy candy floss, hot dogs, popcorn, rock and toffee apples is a special treat. Excited already!

The Mart is also a memorial to the great work of Frederick Savage, who lived in Kings Lynn and pioneered the application of steam power to fairground barrel organs and went on to develop a unique industry manufacturing power driven roundabouts, swings and joy-wheels.

For even better value go on Monday 17th February 2014, Children’s day, when all the rides are reduced to £1.00!

Have Fun Everyone!!
