Oh no….. Our secret is out!!

Only joking, it's wonderful news to hear leading travel writers have revealed they have voted North Norfolk’s very own beach at Holkham the number one beach in the UK.With its wide open stretches and rolling golden sand dunes, anyone who has visited the area can say it’s easy to see why they would pick this perfect place with its stunning views and set in an area of natural beauty as the winner.

With the North Sea as your backdrop Holkham beach is the perfect location for all the family whether you fancy a gentle stroll with the dog, flying a kite, playing cricket, a picnic, or of course building the best sandcastle ever, you are guaranteed a great day out when visiting.

Holkham attracts over 500,000 visitors each year and has been described by Natural England as one of the most important and heavily visited sites in the UK, also The Holkham Estate is part of one of the largest National Nature Reserves in the country and is home to many rare species of flora and fauna.

There have also been a number of times Holkham has featured on television including Gwyneth Paltrow walking across the sand at low tide during the closing scenes of the film Shakespeare in Love, the popular ITV serious Kingdom in 2007 staring Stephen Fry, featured the Blues & Royals of the household cavalry regiment riding on Holkham Beach and the music video Pure Shores by All Saints in 2000 was filmed on the beach.
