Christmas Party Lunch

Published: Friday 6th Dec 2013

It’s that time of year again……..Time for Christmas lunch ‘dos’.

A party of 18 fellow members from Splash Leisure Centre in Sheringham, plus 1 fitness instructor arrived en masse at The Pepperpot in West Runton, on a sunny lunchtime recently.

It was a bit of a squash with us all in the cosy bar area and I did feel for the gentleman who before our arrival had been sitting peacefully by the fire enjoying his newspaper. To suddenly find himself surrounded by a noisy gaggle of ‘ladies of a certain age’ (plus 1 younger instructor!) must have been a rather unwelcome intrusion. Fortunately, he appeared to take it in his stride.

Moving through to the dining area our beautifully-laid long table was festively adorned with crackers and so we took our seats with eager anticipation. We were not disappointed as the food, which had been pre-ordered, was excellent.

I was very impressed with my meal of goats cheese bake to start then a succulent sea bass with an individual dish containing a good selection of vegetables followed by a Baileys Irish Cream crème brulee dessert, then finally coffee & mince pies to finish.

Judging by the comments I could hear; ‘mmmm’ & ‘to die for’, everyone else agreed with me. The remaining tables soon filled up and the room was filled with the happy chatter of contented diners. Based on this experience I can thoroughly recommend The Pepperpot and look forward to my next visit!
