Holt Lights

Snowman in snow globe

We just want to say a massive well done to everyone involved in this year’s Holt lights switch on event.

Every year it seems to get better and better and this year was no exception.  It is always a fantastic atmosphere to be a part of, with the Holt Market Place being closed off to cars, street stalls with Christmas goodies, such as mulled wine, chestnuts and hog roasts to tempt you and street entertainment including singing elves, giant snowballs and even a reindeer to stroke, you are guaranteed a fun evening. Also the shops stay open so you can wander round and start your Christmas shopping.
The main event started at 6.45pm with the big countdown to a spectacular sight of shop fronts and Christmas trees all being lit up in a sea of white lights which will now be on for six weeks so do come and visit to see this wonderful sight.   Shortly following the switching on was a fantastic fireworks display that was truly magical.

We also stayed open late and it was wonderful to see so many of our homeowners, also people just coming in for a chat over a glass of mulled wine and a sausage roll or mince pie.  We even had some new homeowner enquiries so it really was a positive evening.

The fun hasn’t ended here as until the end of December you can take part in The Christmas Window Trail and look for a mystery item in a number of the shop windows and win some fantastic prizes. Good luck!!

So now we’ve had the Holt Light switch on, it’s now the five week countdown to Christmas!
