South Norfolk and Stiffkey

My Favourite places are South Norfolk and Stiffkey.

I spent my childhood on a farm in South Norfolk (The Waveney Valley) not far from Shelton. I have always loved the peaceful countryside there. I have been known to go on the Cycle ride round the Hempnall Group of Churches. Lovely countryside to see, on the way to the secluded Churches, with their beautiful architecture and interesting histories.

In the winter time, I love to go to Stiffkey, to walk along the marshes or go cockling for the ‘Stewky blues’. Taking a picnic or go to the Red Lion pub for an excellent meal.

If I am feeling energetic, I enjoy walking from Salthouse (after a fresh seafood lunch at ‘Cookies’) along to Blakeney soaking up the sea view and watching the large number of birds. If you are lucky you can see the seals swimming. Arriving just in time for afternoon tea, or in summer a delicious crab sandwich from the café on the Blakeney car park.

Norfolk is fantastic and I would not like to live anywhere else.
