A chocolate box cottage with an inviting flower arch entrance, situated in the sleepy village of Grimston on the Norfolk Coast. This beautiful stone property provides a tranquil base for couples or small families holidaying with their four-pawed companions. Stroll through ancient passages and admire the intricate 12th-century architecture of Castle Rising (5 miles), then stretch out on the garden furniture for a tipple in the elegant courtyard.

This airy country cottage features a thoughtfully designed interior with wooden stable doors, fresh neutral tones, and airy rooms. After a day of exploring, stroll by the leafy property entrance and step inside. Slip off muddy shoes then be tempted into the cosy lounge by the flickering glow of the wood burner. Sink onto the armchair with a hot drink or browse the TV for some easy entertainment. Pad into the light-flooded kitchen/diner and rustle up an indulgent dinner in the charming shaker kitchen. Feast below the hanging lights and raise a toast to your special occasion. Retire upstairs to doze in the comfort of two relaxing bedrooms, including an inviting twin and a spacious double. Completing the property is a bright bathroom. Delve into an al fresco breakfast spread on the patio or catch some afternoon rays as you stroll beneath the fruit trees lining the lush garden.

Drink in the decadence of Sandringham Royal Estate (6 miles) then explore the formal gardens and stock up on farm-fresh goodies from the shop. Nature lovers will delight in spotting an array of wading birds at the Snettisham RSPB Reserve (12 miles) before ambling along the shoreline of Heacham South Beach (14 miles).

Having stayed in many holiday cottages over the years, this was one of the best. It was a sympathetically restored traditional house, well equipped, clean and comfortable throughout. The garden was lovely, well-maintained and private. There are walks at either end of the village. The location was excellent - the village is only a few miles from KinRead moregs Lynn, but still surrounded by countryside. There are many places to visit in the surrounding area. The local pub is friendly and serves good food. What more could one want? Just to add - my husband has mobility problems, and uses a mobility scooter when we are out, as he cannot walk far. He managed the 'Norfolk stairs' no problem. When out, almost everywhere we visited was accessible for the scooter. In short, we had a great holiday. Hide

Our 3rd visit to Carrstone Cottage. We love it here as its perfect for our needs a couple and a dog. The garden is fully enclosed and an absolute sun trap, which was appreciated by us all. The cottage itself is lovely - be mindful of the stairs as original and steep if you are less mobile. Is in a great spot for exploring Norfolk and close to SanRead moredringham, Hunstanton and Burnham Market. Slightly further out are Wells and The Broads. We will definitely be back but would say there are a few things which could enhance a stay. We struggled to find a broom, dustpan and iron and Id welcome hairdryer etc. that said when we head to Norfolk again Carrstone would be our go to choice Loved the touches eg wine, milk and dog treats on arrival Hide

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Carrstone Cottage with our two dogs. The cottage is very comfortable and homely and the log burner was a welcome addition. The property was lovely and clean too. We are already discussing booking again for next year.

A very good location for visiting family...Quiet at night...a little traffic early and late. There was a curious piece of equipment in corner work top in kitchen. Perhaps it was a coffee maker? We had no ground coffee so didn't get to try it out... I am sure we one of us will use Carrstone cottage again in future. Thank you!
