Visitors Book - HicklingHere are just some of the very many and much appreciated customer comments we have received about this property this year. A welcoming, cosy and clean cottage, with every little thing provided by the owners to make a lovely holiday. Thank you and well done Mrs C - 21-Jul-2008 The property was wonderfully equipped. Mr J - 29-Aug-2008 Have had a good holiday in your beautiful cottage. Thank you Sean & Anne for the goodies on the table, they came in very handy as we forgot to bring our tea and coffee etc with us. Amy [our dog] also says thank you for her biscuits, she enjoyed them very much. The sea life centre at Yarmouth is very good and we enjoyed a boat trip from Wroxham. Nice to meet you, hope to see you again soon. Mrs C - 07-Jun-2008 Apart from Nanny we all stayed in this cottage last year and fell in love with it and gorgeous Norfolk. But this year the cottage is even lovelier and extremely welcoming. Lovely goodies on the table and I was so glad of the milk in the fridge so that I didn’t have to wait for my cup of tea after a long journey. We really felt at home. We did try the wood burner as you said we should and it was fantastic. Thank you so much for going to the trouble of accommodating an extra guest. It was lovely to meet you as well. Garden gorgeous as well – wasn’t that kind of weather to sit out. Mrs L - 31-May-2008 A relaxing week. Would recommend the water trial on Hickling Broad! Visits enjoyed to Cromer, Gt Yarmouth and Norwich, amongst other places. Mr B - 24-May-2008 We have enjoyed a great week, peaceful and relaxing, wish we had longer, the week flew by. Good meal at Ludham carvery, pub in village. Visited Cromer, Wells, Sherringham. Love that coast. Thanks for such a lovely cottage. Mr E - 17-May-2008 We have had a fantastic holiday, cottage beautiful and very homely. Highlight was hiring a boat on the broads. Will definitely recommend this lovely cottage to our friends & family. We look forward to visiting you again soon. Thank you for a brilliant holiday! Mrs W - 03-May-2008 A lovely warm refuge from snow sleet and hail. But we were exhilarated by the sea and the broads when the sun came out. Everything that should be here is here! Mrs B - 10-Apr-2008 Cosy and comfortable, all needs catered for. Norfolk lovely as ever. Mr M - 05-Apr-2008 Every comfort catered for, caring and thoughtful host. Watched the seals at Horsey Gap as they swam close to the shore. Saw a couple of deer while visiting the Norfolk Wildlife Trust site at Hickling Broad. The RSPB reserve at Minsmere is worth the drive - plenty of birds and deer and good walks along the sea shore. Mr G - 29-Mar-2008 A lovely cottage, very relaxing break for the weekend. Visited the seals at Horsey bay and had a lovely day at Cromer. The Easter bunny even found us!!! Thank you for a great break!! Mr B - 23-Mar-2008 A very welcoming and cosy cottage. The wood burner brings a warm glow in the colder months. Love the lighthouses. I will be recommending it to suitable friends. Mr S - 17-Mar-2008 We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage from the moment we walking the door it felt very homely. We felt it had everything we needed, it was very clean and kept to a high standard. We loved the wood burner in the corner, this combined with the cottage being lovely and quiet helped us leave feeling very relaxed and rested. The ability to walk to the pub, which was very friendly and serves excellent food was another big plus. Once again, thanks very much and we hope to stay again soon. Mr H - 16-Mar-2008 Have had a very restful week in a comfortable well equipped cottage. It provided a cosy retreat from rather indifferent weather at the start of the week. Enjoyed the boy scout element of lighting the solid fuel fire. Surprise to see Oyster catchers feeding in a meadow along the river Bure and delighted to see a barn owl hunting over the meadow.
Ive returned again to this neck of the woods to the tranquil and relaxing atmosphere of the broads, also to this enchanting cottage. It has been a wonderful bonus to have the wood burner - most enjoyable. It was great to wrap up warm and go for walks and stop at some of the riverside pubs plus enjoy the stunning scenery and the peace and quiet of the waterways before the holiday crowds arrive. Lovely day in Norwich, great experience with the park and ride. Very sad to discover that the Swan Inn pub has changed hands.
Mr T - 14-Mar-2008 Once again another perfect stay! Love the wood burner - very cosy. Thank you for welcoming us back - we will definitely return in the summer. Mr G - 29-Feb-2008 What a gem! Sadly only here for a short weekend, but its a wonderful base for exploring the coast and local pubs! Very well equipped, particularly well suited to enjoying full English breakfasts. The Somerton-Horsey-Winterton walk was amazing - seals and their pubs basking on the beach and swimming in the sea! Apparently they are there from November to early February - good time for a quiet break . Mr L - 02-Feb-2008 Lovely cottage!! Cosy and welcoming!! Lovely day in Norwich. Also visited Sea Palling - what a fantastic beach. The cottage is so central to every where we would want to go, great for walks and cycling etc. Mrs R - 21-Jan-2008 We are regular visitors to Norfolk and have been coming for nearly 30 years. When the children were younger we stayed in the charming farmhouse at Warren Farm, the beach our back garden. It is now used for commercial business purposes and sadly the house has deteriorated. It is however well worth a visit for the open space and access to the lovely beach, sea life and birds. We have really felt at home at your comfortable and cosy cottage. We have chilled and recharged our batteries, but back to the rat race tomorrow. With warmest best wishes and we are positive we will be back. Mrs E - 14-Jan-2008 Fantastic time, lovely cottage so welcoming. So well equipped we had a brilliant time and good rest. Mrs S - 30-Dec-2007 Thank you for providing everything for the perfect weekend away. We found the cottage to have things we hadn’t even thought to bring and settled in immediately. Mrs K - 20-Nov-2007 It is my first visit to the cottage which I found so welcoming and comfortable. Saturday night we had the most enjoyable meal at the swan in Ingham (5 mins by car) food excellent, wonderful service and friendly atmosphere. I would recommend it. On Sunday I attended mass at Norwich cathedral. It is a magnificent building and is a unique experience, it is worth a visit. Mrs M - 12-Nov-2007 Thank you for your kind welcome to this warm cosy and wonderfully equipped cottage. We recommend the great beach walks, Cart Gap to Sea Palling, and Mundesley to Cromer (look out for the fossils). The Nature reserve at Hickling provided us with sightings of no less than four Marsh Harriers. The best hide is the Bitterne Hide on the far side of the reserve. At Cley-Next-The-Sea S saw her first avocets. The village is picturesque and quiet but the visit of the fish and chip man on Friday is the social event of the week. His fare is well worth sampling. We have had such a lovely time we are sad to be going. Mr T - 20-Oct-2007 |
