Overstrand is a coastal village located in an idyllic area of North Norfolk. The village is forever immortalised as Poppyland, due to the writings of Victorian journalist, Clement Scott. It still holds a special charm and retains many reminders of its prosperous past. It is excellent for those wanting to explore the rich and diverse coast with many footpaths making it ideal for walkers. Overstrand has village shops and a pub and there are further shopping and dining facilities available in Cromer, which is just a short drive away.

About 100 years ago Overstrand became a seaside retreat for the wealthy, with many fine Edwardian houses being created. Butler's Cottage belongs to this era, together with the neighbouring gardener's cottage, both serving the residence of Lord and Lady Battersea. It is just five minutes to the beach.
