With room for seven, this fabulous holiday home has a gorgeous garden and much-prized private parking, yet is only 500 metres from the bustling quay and a mile from the fabulous sands of Wells-next-the-Sea. Gather nearest and dearest and make memories to treasure at this detached holiday home. Offering space where everyone can get together or spread out, it features a snug/children’s sitting room complete with TV, DVD player and selection of games and toys plus a more formal lounge where there’s a Smart TV with extra entertainment packages, a choice of comfortable seating, open fire and French doors to the garden. A contemporary kitchen stretches across the back of the house and features all the modern must-haves, including a wine cooler and dishwasher; cook up a feast and then enjoy good conversation as you eat in the elegant dining room. A spacious shower room completes the ground floor layout; upstairs there’s a light, bright family bathroom and four bedrooms – two have a double bed, one has twin beds and the other has a single. Traditional Norfolk flint and brick walls enclose the garden, which has cottage-style planting, lawned and paved areas and a barn that houses a handy washing machine and freezer. The parking space to the rear is a real bonus – this lively town is easily explored on foot!

Bordered by pine woodlands, Wells-next-the-Sea has a fine, sandy beach and iconic beach huts – it’s a mile from the bustling town centre and quayside but if you don’t fancy the walk, a small gauge railway will take you there. At the harbour, fishing boats unload their daily catch and children throw lines for crabs; there’s an eclectic choice of boutiques, cafes, pubs and tea rooms to browse, and a lovely playground where the little ones can run off steam before heading home. Should you wish to explore further, neighbouring Holkham has its own famous beach and nature reserve.

The house was beautiful and for the most part very well equipped. There were however a few issues that may need to be taken into account for future. Firstly the chest of drawers in the twin room and one of the double rooms were quite dangerous as they were wobbly and not attached. On our first day my 4 year old went to open one of the drawers and iRead moret fell forward. Fortunately I was there to catch it so she wasnt hurt. Secondly, my mother has some mobility issues and there are quite a few uneven floors and small steps around the property. Obviously this cant be helped but it might be worth mentioning on the advert for the property so that people can consider this. Overall we had a lovely stay but I do think these issues need to be addressed in the future. Hide

A well-appointed, warm and welcoming cottage providing easy access to the town centre + quay and nearby places of interest. The owner dealt promptly with our request for additional towels. My only niggle is that, imho, the mattress on the second double bed is past its best. I gave up after one night and moved downstairs to sleep on the daybed in tRead morehe snug which solved the problem. Hide

Unfortunately the 9am checkout for us would stop us from booking with you again. We have had two cottage stats post Covid one with the usual 10.30am check out and one with an 11am checkout: With small children and elderly parents this made out last morning quite stressful and certainly put a dampener on our last night. Especially as there was stillRead more The expectation that beds were stripped and bins emptied (which of course we did) Knowing that had we booked the property through Air BnB that the checkout is 10am made this more frustrating when NC would not budge on this when requested. The house itself and location was excellent: unfortunately a number of wine glasses here chipped and also the main bed linen had stains on all pillows which was disappointing. Hide
