This single-storey barn conversion is a great base for guests who want to explore the North Norfolk coast and countryside. With two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a lovely village location, it’s pet-friendly and has an enclosed courtyard garden too.

Brick and flint barns are a familiar feature in the Norfolk countryside, and this lovely conversion combines all the character of the original building with every modern must-have to offer a holiday home that’s full of charm, comfort and convenience. Perfect for two couples and a canine companion, the ground floor layout impresses from the moment you enter; step into the open-plan living space and you’ll be bowled over by the lovely natural light that floods in. Unwind with a movie, stream your favourite music or simply light the wood burner and stretch out on a sofa; when it’s time to eat, the dining suite is just steps away. Adjacent is a contemporary kitchen with everything you’ll need for an effortless stay, including a Nespresso coffee machine. When it’s time to retire, there are two lovely bedrooms, each with their own TV so you can nod off to a late-night movie. One has a king-size bed and en-suite shower room, the other has a double bed, and a family bathroom with corner bath completes the convenience. Soak up the sun and fresh country air from your courtyard garden; outdoor furniture is provided so you can enjoy food and drinks al fresco.

There’s driveway parking for two cars here – enjoy walks to Bodham’s friendly pub just down the road or head further afield; the village is on the edge of the Norfolk Coast AONB and surrounded by gently rolling farmland sprinkled with mature, semi-natural woodland. The National Trust’s Sheringham Park (5 miles) has glorious coastal views and is close to the seaside town that shares its name, while 7.5 miles in the opposite direction is the tidal creek and ancient quay at Blakeney; take a boat trip to see the seals at Blakeney Point – well-behaved dogs are welcome aboard.

The cottage was well equiped and in a good location. Beds were comfy, some nights the ensuite bedroom was quiet cold but apart from that everything was fine.

The cottage is ideal for visiting the north Norfolk coast and surrounding areas. There is a village pub virtually next door. Apart from that no village shop so you have to drive to Holt which is only about 10 mins away. The cottage was clean and the kitchen well fitted out with equipment which was ideal as we cooked Christmas dinner there. We weRead morere not able to control the heating which switched off at 10:00 so we felt a little chilly in the evenings. Hide

Fieldmouse Barn was a really lovely property and spotlessly clean . The village is small with only a pub next door but set back a short way from the main road meant it was quiet . The kitchen equipment was of good quality and cleaning materials very generous . Cooker , fridge , washer etc in good working order .

The property was exactly as described. It was excellently situated, very handy for the beach . The barn was immaculately presented, spotlessly clean with good quality appliances. Would definitely stay there again and would happily recommend Original Cottages to family and friends.

We had a wonderful time and the house was great. Its ideally situated for the Broads and the North Norfolk coast. The house is very cosy and well stocked, particularly in the kitchen. You could create a cordon bleu meal with the amount of gadgets and utensils! Lovely soft towels in the bathrooms which were clean and spacious. It suited our small faRead moremily and dog and Im sure we will be back! The pub to the rear serves decent pub grub so theres a very convenient option if you dont fancy cooking! The property was lovely. However, our relaxation and comfort was disturbed by the dog in the pub next door. One morning it barked from 7- 8:30 am. Not good when you want a lie in. We did speak to a barman in the pub and he said the dog was kept in the garden and a young boy torments it? This has put us off staying at the property again. Also the cRead morelock in the hallway ticks very loudly. Hide

Equipment - the lack of a proper bathroom shower in the second bedroom (tap attachment difficult to fit and did not stay in place) was disappointing.
