Linda's Favourite place - Norwich

Having lived in Norfolk all my life it is so easy to take for granted the beautiful sandy beaches and mile upon mile of picturesque countryside that we have the privilege to enjoy.

However, one of my hobbies is shopping (mostly window shopping of course) and Norwich, the capital of Norfolk has to be one of my favourite places as I feel it has everything.

Norwich dates back to Saxon times and parts of the old city wall are still standing. It is probably best known for its fine Cathedral (dominating the Norwich skyline) and Castle Museum plus many historical treasures, not forgetting Coleman's Mustard the "hot spot" of Norwich. Tragically the old library burnt down some years ago having been replaced recently by the new Forum a magnificent building housing the Millennium Library. Situated opposite to this is the Theatre Royal where we have enjoyed many an evening with friends.

Now to the quaint Market where you can buy anything from a jellied eel to a sowester and, not to be overlooked are the numerous paved lanes and alleyways with their speciality shops and antiquities There are acres of parks plus miles of riverside walks, enjoy a light refreshment along the way or, simply take a boat trip from Pulls Ferry to the Norfolk Broads, and so the list goes on.

Despite the weather or the time of year I could not tire of visiting this fine City
