The White Horse at Blakeney is suddenly in the news, winning decent awards, getting huge spreads in glossy magazines and all the rest. It’s actually been building up quite a reputation for a good few years and manages that happy balance of village pub and decent restaurant. Situated in one of the village’s oldest buildings, the White Horse is surprisingly big. It’s fairly warren-like inside with much exposed flintwork. There are three quite separate dining areas – the actual bar, a very airy conservatory and the aforementioned restaurant – although the menus are easy to understand. One is used throughout, with specials up on the ubiquitous blackboard. A separate, more fancy restaurant menu is on offer Tuesday to Saturday evenings.
