West Somerton is a small village tucked into a quiet corner of East Norfolk. The sandy beach at Winterton-on-Sea is just two miles away, as is Winterton Dunes Nature Reserve, and West  Somerton is an excellent centre for birdwatching. Horsey Mere is nearby, with spectacular views across the marshes being offered from the National Trust's Horsey Windpump. Families will enjoy days out at the many attractions in the area or perhaps at the bustling seaside resort of Great Yarmouth, where there are activities ranging from a gentle trip in a traditional horse-drawn landau to white-knuckle rides at the Pleasure Beach.
