Happisburgh (pronounced Haisbro) is a seaside village on the North East Coast of Norfolk. It is of considerable historic charm with many thatched cottages and a handsome church, whose tower top is now accessible to visitors. There is a prominent red and white striped lighthouse, and the beach is loved by all age groups. There are some lovely coastal and rural walks in the area and many attractions to visit including the Norfolk Broads and the new Royal Horticultural Society garden at East Ruston. Map Ref: B8
Built on the low cliffs near Happisburgh, above a sandy beach, this property offers fun, unsophisticated and unconventional accommodation, with magnificent views over farmland, sea and the lighthouse. There is a traditional wooden chalet and a modern beach house, which has featured in newspaper articles. They stand at right angles to each other, separated by a narrow path. The bedrooms have exposed beams and walls adorned with family souvenirs. There is a large garden - mostly grass, roses and tamarisk shrubs, with visits from interesting varieties of wildlife. Access is by an unmade track. Shop: 1 mile Pub: 1 mile |
