East Harling lies close to the Norfolk/Suffolk border and is well placed for visiting many attractions. Just a 5 minute drive brings you to Thetford Forest and the Brecks, where an abundance of flora and fauna, including red and roe deer can be seen as you walk or cycle along the many woodland paths. Less than 15 minutes in the car will take you to Bressingham Steam Museum, St.Georges whisky distillery, Snetterton race track, Banham Zoo, the World Horse Welfare Centre, Knettishall  Heath Country Park, Redgrave and Lopham Fen nature reserve, home of the rare raft spider, and the start of the Peddars Way long distance footpath. The historic city of Norwich, with its cathedral, over 50 medieval churches, riverside walks and boat trips is just over 20 miles away, along with Norfolk Broads. The cathedrals of Ely and Bury St Edmunds are less than an hour's drive. The university city of Cambridge and many miles of the Norfolk and Suffolk coastline, with its beautiful sandy beaches and internationally renowned bird reserves, can be reached in about an hour.
