West Somerton is a small village in a quiet rural location tucked into a quiet corner of East Norfolk between the Norfolk Broads and the sea. The sandy beach at Winterton-on-Sea is just two miles away, and it is also home to Winterton Dunes Nature Reserve. Horsey Mere is nearby, with spectacular views across the marshes being offered from the National Trust's Horsey Windpump. There is also a beach and a National Nature Reserve at East Somerton, two miles away. Map Ref: C8
