The very pretty and quiet village of Matlaske is just five miles due south from the seaside town of Sheringham and a mere four miles from the historic Georgian market town of Holt. The village sits on the southern edge of Barningham Hall which is a very fine example of the architecture evident in this part of the county. Baconsthorpe with its castle is a neighbouring village and the castle well worth a visit.
