We loved Amber cottage, it was clean & felt very cosy too. Loved the location of the cottage being a short walk to the local pub and also to the beach ( if you cut through the local nature reserve, however there are cows which roam this field - so any dog walkers beware and keep your dogs on leads at all times ). The outside space was also lovely wRead moreith plenty of places to sit and enjoy the garden which was very well kept and private, including a separate annexe, a bbq area and a full size table tennis table which we loved ! . There is also a lovely farm shop 5mins drive up the road with plenty of parking although it does get very busy sometimes & in the same location is Erics Fish & Chips (which is very good) Erics pizza restaurant which provides takeaway as well and is inside a yurt of all things, but lovely tasting authentic pizzas ! & an ice cream parlour that does coffee, teas, cakes & sweet treats etc .The only drawback is that the cottage is on a busy main road (the A149), but the off street parking is ample and safe but we thought that it may be a problem as both bedrooms face the road, but it was surprisingly quiet at night and to be honest we had no trouble at all sleeping and the beds were comfy too. All in all we had a lovely week at Amber cottage and would highly recommend. Hide

We had a lovely time at Amber Cottage. The garden is well laid out, at the end is the barbeque area, with a table and seating to enjoy outdoor living. We were all very impressed with the cleanliness and it was very well equipped. The kitchen is small, but very functional, it has everything there that you might possibly need. A well equipped, very clean and cosy cottage with a lovely enclosed garden, with parking for 3 cars. Four adults and two dogs had a very enjoyable 4 night break with good weather too. Would like to revisit soon. The local pub, within walking distance, is reported due to reopen in May following refurbishment.

We 4 ladies can thoroughly recommend this delightful cottage for a stay within a short walk of the sea. The open fire and cosiness was especially welcome on a windswept March weekend. We loved our stay here and its the most pet friendly cottage weve stayed at! The owner has thought of everything, including balls, biscuits, towels and a handy screen to stop dogs going upstairs (although ours is trained not to). Overall the cottage was good, the children's room upstairs was small but usuable. Suggest mattress protectors, plastic plates for children. Otherwise a comfortable cottage well located for the North Norfolk coast.

We found the layout of the property didn't work for us. There were no food preparation areas in the kitchen as workspace was non existent. Friends did not join us in the end and we felt that was a good job since its difficult to imagine how 4 adults could manage in the tiny kitchen space let alone anyone staying in the annexe or snug. The back of tRead morehe house kitchen, snug and utility room felt cold and damp as there were no radiators. We enjoyed the open fires we had and the heating was efficient - it was quite cold during the evenings for our stay. The garden we understood was a work in progress but even so it was pretty and well equipped. The outdoor seating area was a good idea as was the table tennis table. The annexe we didn't use - it appeared well equipped but again difficult to imagine even more people in the kitchen and lounge. The dining room we used a few times and the books, maps etc were useful. The stairs were very steep and we thought unsuitable for young children or elderly people and we could see no sign of this in the brochure. There was a huge amount of crockery and cutlery in the kitchen. The futon style bed may not have been suitable for some to use - with mobility problems for example - we found it comfortable but not what we'd expected from the cottage information and photos. A sweet little cottage but we felt more attention to the main house would have made it more comfortable rather than spending money on the extension. which only increased the number of beds. The snug was a non starter for us served no purpose other than adding another bed. Hide

We really enjoyed our holiday and would happily stay again but the property was perhaps a little smaller than the photos suggested. In additional the kitchen was perfectly adequate but I'm not sure it quite lived up to the description.
