The village is surrounded by beautiful countryside and is close to many walks and sandy beaches.

There are two wonderful beaches within easy reach, Holkham (5.5 miles) and Brancaster (7.5 miles). When the tide goes out at Holkham, it leaves behind glorious stretches of sand backed by dunes and pine woods. Brancaster has a wonderful Links golf course, but you must check the tide times and watch out for the incoming tide! Sailing courses are available at Brancaster, and the beaches at Brancaster and Heacham (12 miles) are great for sand surfing and kite flying.
