Amazing location and beautiful beach. Access from property to beach is steep and sandy but good access via public boardwalks to either side of the property. These were good for our older dog. The garden isnt enclosed and not suitable for a more inquisitive dog. EV charging point was worth the extra 25 and makes life easy as rapid charging is Read morenot readily available in the area. A truly wonderful fishermans hut, taken to the next level. Oozed character plus all mod cons, out of the back gate on onto really quiet beaches. We will be back .

The cottage although dated is in an ideal location. The garden has a good sunny aspect and very peaceful. Bed is very comfortable. When we had an issue it was resolved immediately with good communication. Good equipment in kitchen, outdoor sink was handy. We had a great week.

Santa Monica is very deceptively large and spacious and is a real revelation when you explore. The decor is different but somehow fits really well with the furnishings and fittings. The antique bathroom fittings were lovely. The dining are was surprisingly spacious and bright with the French windows. The proximity to the beach was great, although Read morewe only managed the dune steps access behind the cottage once, there were ample purpose built ramps and steps within 50 yards to access the wonderful beach. Would love to return. Amenities close by were P.O and store. Pub, Bistro, Fish and chip shop and a cafe. Many places of interest within reasonable driving reach. Hide

Santa Monica is a quirky, yet charming property. It has direct access to the dunes and beach by a steep path at the back of the cottage but if you are able, the view of the beach is worth the scramble. If you don't feel up to that there is access very close by via a boardwalk. The property is on one level and has been imaginatively designed. The kiRead moreng-size bed is comfortable, great for a good night's rest after being out all day. The great hall has two comfortable sofas and although darker than the rest of the property the owner has created pools of light using lamps, uplights and down lightning, which makes the room feel cosy. The Wi-Fi was good but 'phone reception can be intermittent, which wasn't a problem for us. The dining area has French doors opening onto the garden and a lovely seating area wrapped around a large wooden table. Again, there are pools of lighting making a cosy feel in the evening, plus lots of natural light in the daytime via a light tunnel and the portholes. The bathroom has a glass ceiling so you can soak and look at the star in the claw footed bathtub. The shower between the bathroom and kitchen also has a glass ceiling for more daydreaming. There is plenty of hot water, the cottage is warm and has great green credentials. The kitchen is in keeping with the Boho beach life vibe, it is well equipped with views of the marram grasses and dunes. There is a large verandah which would be great in the summer evenings as it faces the sunset. We visited in February and did manage to sit outside for a morning in the sunshine. There is also an outside kitchen area for alfresco evenings. The village is a ten minute walk away with a caf, bistro, pub and amusements. The Rock Beach Bistro serves wonderful food, is dog friendly and you feel very welcome. The beach is dog friendly all year around, although there is a restricted area near the lifeboat station in high season. Sea Palling is a small but lovely village close to Stalham where there is a medium sized supermarket, plus independent stores. The Swan Inn at Stalham serves good food and is dog friendly. Santa Monica is close to Horsey Gap where you can see seals and is also on the edge of the broads. The Nelsons Head at Horsey is worth a visit, good ales and home cooked food, dogs are also welcome here. If you are looking for a chilled holiday in a place with character Santa Monica will give you that. We were very sad to leave as Santa Monica was a little haven next to a little slice of heaven. Clean, convenient and comfortable. Great base to explore the area and close location to beach/sea a bonus. Good for dog lovers -dog friendly garden and pub (Nelsons Head at Horsey). Can even hire a boat on the broads that takes dogs!
