This delightful holiday retreat is nestled in the serene village of East Harling, on the edge of The Brecks. It’s a charming lodge with two bedrooms, space for three guests, making it ideal for couples, small family groups or friends and your furry friend, too. Scenic lake and river views make it a delight during the warmer months, while the cosy wood burner keeps you all warm on chilly winter nights. It’s set on a working farm; with lovely trails you can follow taking in the grounds and fishing lake.
A leafy setting and lovely wood and brick exterior make this place highly attractive from the outside. Inside, an open-plan layout and bright, comfortable interiors create a pleasant and welcoming atmosphere. Large floor-to-ceiling windows flood the main room with natural light, which has a lovely dining area for sharing meals. A double room and a single invite you to enjoy a peaceful night’s sleep, with a family bathroom to start your morning right. Outside, the enclosed garden is a paradise for children and pets, complete with garden furniture for fresh-air dining. The nearby lake is stocked with fish for if you fancy some angling during your stay, or walk down to the thatched riverside gazebo which offers shelter for wildlife watching.
You’ll have a pub 350 metres away and another 2 miles away in Larling. The East Harling area makes an excellent base for exploring Norfolk and Suffolk. The Brecks’ nearly 400 square miles of beautiful scenery and wildlife are a delight for nature enthusiasts, and also include the fascinating Grime's Graves – 5,000-year-old Neolithic flint mines – which history fans will be keen to experience. Nearby, Thetford Forest (10.5 miles) is a haven for cyclists and walkers with its extensive trails. Adventurous types will no doubt enjoy a visit to Go Ape for treetop fun.
