The village of Bergh Apton can trace its origins back to Roman times when it was initially two separate settlements. In the past the village was well known for its cherry orchards, with the fruit being transported throughout England via the rail network; today however it is the biennial Sculpture Trail which attracts many visitors. Bergh Apton is an ideal base from which to discover the delights of Norfolk. The village lies eight miles South West of Norwich, a charming city with a plethora of restaurants and shops and the newly restored Theatre Royal which offers a broad range of entertainment, or you may wish to enjoy a more tranquil day exploring the Broads. Loddon, South Norfolk's Gateway to the Broads is only a five minute car drive away. If you wish to venture further afield, you are well placed to visit the sandy beaches of the East Coast, the beautiful North Norfolk coast, and the lovely countryside of Suffolk.
A pretty location with delightful views in rural Norfolk, yet the Coast at Southwold, the Broads at Loddon and Beccles and the fine city of Norwich are all very accessible. A great location for relaxing and exploring.
