Hempstead is a small, sleepy and pretty village just two miles from the picturesque Georgian market town of Holt with its selection of galleries, restaurants and independent shops. Surrounded by the rolling countryside of the Holt ridge, it is an ideal place to explore and is great for cycling, walking and bird watching. The coast is only five miles away and the choice is quite diverse - from the beaches of Cromer and Sheringham to the shingle of Salthouse and the marshes of Blakeney and Cley. The ruins of Baconsthorpe Castle can be found in the adjoining village, alternatively you could walk to Selbrigg Lake where the River Glaven rises. Map Ref:  A6

Lovely cottage, secluded and very quiet. Beautiful village life and a nice safe garden. Holt was good for shopping and eating out and there are some fantastic coastal villages.

Lovely cosy cottage with everything we needed for a relaxing week. Weather very good for the time of year. The Norfolk wildlife visitor centre is well worth a visit as is a day trip to Norwich.
