Favourite Place: North Norfolk

I love exploring North Norfolk, the rolling countryside, country lanes, coastal pathways, beaches, or just relaxing in our beautiful countryside - it's a great way to enjoy Norfolk.

The coast of Norfolk is very varied, with a beach to suit everyone, from the traditional seaside, fishing off shingle ridges to walking your dog at Holkham. Holkham Beach can be found via Lady Anne's drive off the A149, where you will find an endless expanse of unspoilt beach. Holkham is home to one of the largest nature reserves in the country where you will see rare species of flora and fauna.

Various routes can be taken for a walk, although if you bear right and either take the coastal path, a stroll along the beach or even through the pinewoods, this will eventually bring you to Wells-next-the-sea. This is a historic traditional seaside town, with a harbour, the granary a prime feature of the sea front, amusement arcades and several shops dotted along the streets.

Simply watch from the quay the small fishing boats that come and go, and the children fishing for crabs. Enjoy freshly caught seafood in the restaurants or you can just relax upon one of the oldest sailing ships still afloat moored at the harbour, the beautiful Dutch sailing barge, The Albatross, where you can enjoy pancakes and hot chocolate.
