Favourite Place: Cromer
One of my favourite places in Norfolk is Cromer, a charming sea-side town on the North Norfolk coast. I love to walk along the cliff-top path past the lighthouse and over the golf course to Overstrand. The scenery is beautiful especially when the gorse is in full bloom. The cliff top cafe at Overstrand is a good place for a cup of tea and a cake to prepare yourself for the walk back along the beach to Cromer. It is a lovely walk whatever time of the year as the sea is always different.
Back in Cromer, after walking past the fishing boats you come to the pier, one of only a few left in England. The Pier Pavilion has a variety of shows throughout the year and the Seaside Special is very popular during the summer months. Cromer takes on a very magical appearance at night when walking back from the pier with the reflection of fairy lights on the water.
There are several places to eat in Cromer but my favourites are the Rocket House Cafe where you can sit and take in the wonderful views over the sea and Boltons Bistro which serves some very good fish dishes. Of course you cannot come to Cromer without sampling the famous Cromer crab. I think if you stay in a Cromer cottage you will find plenty to do and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
