Our Offices

All three of our offices are based in Norfolk. This local knowledge and local existence gives us unrivaled knowledge and passion for our county. We are very fortunate to work in such lovely offices as The Old Crab Shop at Holt, The Old Garage in Burnham Market and Carlton House at Reepham. Very much like the towns in which they reside there is a rich history behind the offices. The expansion of the business brings a higher standard than ever before of holiday accommodation and customer service to the local tourism industry. Having offices in Reepham, Holt and now Burnham Market will give our homeowners the representation they should have right across the county.

The Old Crab Shop in Holt

The Old Crab Shop opened as the new Norfolk Country Cottages office in April 2007. The building was bought by the Ellis family in late 2006 and has been beautifully renovated while still maintaining the brick and flint style which is typical of North Norfolk. Prior to this, the shop was owned and run by Roger Copeman as a Fishmongers specialising in crabs, hence the name The Old Crab Shop. Roger was a well known and much loved character in Holt and many people have called in to the office to talk about him and the shop. Luckily there are still other fish shops in Holt and crabs are still sold from the front room window of a neighbouring property in Albert Street! In May 2012, we acquired the adjoining property and this is now our main office housing our Reservation and Homeowner teams. If you book a holiday cottage in Holt then do pop in and see us any time!

The Old Garage in Burnham Market

In 2011, we opened a third office in the historic village of Burnham Market. The office is located in The Old Garage, part of Emma's Court just behind Grooms the Bakers (what temptation!). The village is close to the North West coast of Norfolk and is surrounded by some simply breathtaking scenery. We're located just off of the beautiful green and high street, which is home to many boutique fashion shops, indulgent food stores, restaurants and some lovely pubs. We know Burnham Market is a popular choice for discerning holiday cottage customers and we aim to bring them an even better selection of properties.

Carlton House in Reepham

This is where our back office function (accounts, marketing and IT) is based in the centre of the small market town of Reepham. Purchased in 1991, Carlton House was completely renovated, with a lot of hard work, into offices (we had to treat dry rot, wet rot, deathwatch beetle... you name it, we had it!). Carlton House was purchased mainly due to the business and family outgrowing the Ellis family home. After the building work, we eventually moved into one room at the front of Carlton House in 1992. In 1996 we renovated a barn at the back of Carlton House and relocated into this lovely new part of the building, which has many original beams and features.

In recent years we have revamped the building even further and now occupy the adjacent shop which we have opened as Melton House Gallery displaying our own photographers work. We love this building and are really pleased to work in and be an integral part of this wonderful town.
