The Cockles is a well appointed apartment. It is very clean, nicely decorated, well equipped and well positioned for all of the amenities in Sheringham. Despite overlooking a road it is very quiet and there is off-road parking. Although advertised for 4 people I think that this would be a tight squeeze especially for dining and general lounging. ThRead moree ensuite shower room is a good size whereas the second shower room is quite tiny. Given that there were only two of us this wasn't a problem. Beware, there are two long flights of stairs up to the apartment. Our overall enjoyment of the place was severely muted by the fact that when we arrived at 16.30 the temperature was 10 deg C! It took ~30min to find the instructions and work out how to use the heating system. Six hours later when we went to bed the temperature was still only 16 deg. The bedroom was very cold and the bedclothes felt damp. 24hrs later the accommodation was a comfortable 19-20deg. It was clear that the apartment hadn't been used during the preceding week and perhaps even longer. Given that we paid a premium rate for a 4 day stay over the New Year period I think that at the very least the heating system should have been activated well ahead of our arrival. Hide

The Cockles is a really nice place to stay and has a great holiday feel. The location is a perfect location to the coast and to local shops. Sheringham is a really nice place too and we will definitely be returning. I have 2 boys and they loved everything about the holiday. It's also an amazing place for adults only. Highly recommended.
